Mindfulness Meditation: Drop-In Classes (1.5 hours)
In 2017 The Mindfulness Institute is offering Monday evening Drop-In sessions open to everyone and Thursday evening Drop-In sessions open to graduates of a MBSR program.
The Monday program is for anyone who would like to practice meditation in a safe and comfortable group setting. The teaching is secular, and participants of any spiritual or religious background are welcome. The goal of this program is to develop community with other meditators. No previous experience with meditation is required for the Monday evening meditation.
The Thursday Drop-In program is for graduates of a Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program and is open to graduates who would like to continue their meditation practice.
Mindfulness is a natural part of being human that involves present moment awareness. It can be cultivated through formal and informal mindfulness exercises, both of which will be explored in this program. Scientific research in this field demonstrates a multitude of improvements in quality of life associated with practicing mindfulness.
In each drop-in session, we will explore what mindfulness is and the effects of mindfulness on various aspects of quality of life and stress management. There will be time to ask questions and to explore how mindfulness can be developed in the context of our busy lives. Instructions will be given for participants who have limited experience with meditation.

The Drop - In rate is $20/class at the door
Please wear comfortable clothing, bring a Yoga mat and/or a cushion, and a water bottle. Please consider dressing in layers and/or bringing socks as the room can get chilly when we meditate.
